A large number of food critics and restaurant reviewers, myself included, often use the term ‘dining experience’ within their write-ups. However, after recently being invited by the management team of the luxurious Iniala Beach House in Natai, Phang-Nga to sample the new season menus at their Aziamendi Restaurant I believe that what I previously termed as a ‘dining experience’ was simply going out to dinner. Yes, it was dining, and yes it was also an experience, but the gastronomic journey offered by Aziamendi’s Chef De Cuisine Alexander Burger, in fact, by the entire team at Aziamendi is a ‘dining experience’ like I have never experienced before. Actually, as far as I know their ‘dining experience’ is like no other available in Phuket, Thailand, and even possibly South-East Asia.

Art is a major part of Iniana’s design, and the fine dining journey offered by Aziamendi, the brainchild of Three Michelin Star Chef Eneko Atxa from Spain’s Basque region very much follows this but uses Basque techniques fused with Thai ingredients to produce the art, and the tableware onto which these master pieces are placed are also pieces of art themselves.
The gastronomic experience at Aziamendi commences as soon as you enter the premises and takes you on a journey from Iniala’s gallery, through the immaculate garden, into the kitchen, and finally to the dining area and yes, you’re welcomed with a gastronomic treat every step of the way.

I don’t want to give too much away as I’m 99 percent sure that most of you would never been on a gastronomic journey like this in your lives, just like myself, but what I will tell you is that you will go from Lemongrass Martini’s and a picnic box, onto an edible Bonsai tree, an injected egg yolk and through a further 11 gastronomic delights including Oyster with Sea Foam, Squid Noodles, Pigeon with Duxelles and Cauliflower and Chef Alex’s very own twist on Croissants.

However, it’s not only the cuisine that makes this gastronomic experience what it is; it certainly wouldn’t be the same without the hospitality and service from the likes of restaurant General Manager Behzad Davarkia and staff such as Khun Goy who take you through each and every step of the journey giving you all the finer details on the dishes and the rules to devouring them all along the way.

Prior to the official launch of Aziamendi’s new season menus on 4th December 2014, in the month of November they are offering a special promotion offering a 50% discount on each menu, and if both menus are booked you only pay 6,000THB.
Wine pairing from Aziamendi’s Sommelier Khun Jai is also available upon your visit or you can choose from an extensive wine menu with prices starting at 1,500 a bottle.
Please visit Aziamendi and be ready to be taken on a gastronomic journey like no other!
As part of this magical journey, hotel pick-up and return journey is included in the price of the experience!
Phuketindex.com would like to thank the management team of Iniala for inviting us to experience this extraordinary dining journey.
