Klong Mudong, a large tidal estuary that flows into the mangroves along Phang Nga Bay on Phuket’s east coast. The natural scenery here has inspired many artists and been the focus of several photo contests.The Klong Mudong area and the Khao Kad viewpoint is popular among local residents and tourists as a haven away from the busy beach areas on Phuket’s west coast.
At the mouth of Klong Mudong is the village of Ban Bo Rae. It is a pleasant little village, a nice place where you can walk on the pedestrian promenade along the riverside, get something to eat, drink or just relax. It is also possible to rent a longtail boat or a kayak here. Most people who live here are fishermen and the population is a mixture of Muslim and Buddhist.
