Make your own Houttuynia Cordata facial cleansing soapHouttuynia Cordata is now becoming a popular ingredient in a large number of Japanese and Korean face cleansing products such as soaps, facemasks and toners. The reason for this is that it’s full of flavonoids, which are super strong antioxidants and therefore fights major types of acne causing bacteria. It can also drastically improve the skin, making it appear younger.

However, purchasing a soap made from Houttuynia Cordata isn’t necessary as it’s fairly simple to make your own. Although it takes some time to set, the amount the following ingredients allows you to make will last you a good while, and after making it the first time you’ll be fully prepared for making further batches.

As this soap is made from natural oils and Houttuynia Cordata extract, an effective moisturizer, it will keep your skin supple and clear. It is also great for removing unwanted bacteria causes acne and other skin diseases.

Ingredients:
100 grams Houttuynia Cordata leaves
200 grams Purified water
250 grams Olive oil
125 grams Palm oil
125 grams Coconut oil
66 grams Caustic soda

Directions:
Wash the Houttuynia Cordata leaves in cold water and set aside to dry, but they should still remain fresh.
Put the leaves and purified water in a blender and blend well.
Using a cotton towel drain the liquid.
Add more purified water so that you have 175g of liquid.
Add the caustic soda and stir until the soda has dissolved.
Add all the oils and heat until around 40-45 degrees Celsius.
Slowly add the liquid and stir well for around 10-15 minutes.
Add the drained Houttuynia Cordata leaves and stir well.
Pour the mixture into a suitable mold and place in a Styrofoam box to keep warm.
Leave for 24 hours to set and cut the bar to required size sizes.

You will have to wait one month to be able to use the bars of soap, but it will be well worth the wait.
