Today I would like to bring you to visit “Rim Talay Restaurant”, it is another great-view restaurant on Phuket Island.
The Rim Talay restaurant is located by the beach. Suitable for sitting and enjoying the view of Patong Bay, Phuket.
They serve lunch and dinner. And every morning, they provide a breakfast buffet. Also, during the holiday season, the restaurant will organize a special dinner buffet.
Today I have come to try Phuket’s local food, Phuketian style. It is in the set “Discover Phuketian Flavors”, this set is 590 Baht. You can select 3 dishes from 12 menus as follows; Bue Tod (Deep-fried local leaves with shrimp), Hoo Chae (Salad in Phuket style), Phuket Fresh spring rolls, Mee Hoon Kang Puu (Rice noodle serve with crab curry), Moo Hong (Stewed pork belly), Deep-fried fish (Northern whiting deep-fried with turmeric), Stir-fried Miang leaves with egg, Boiled coconut milk with Miang leaves, Kaeng Som (Southern Thai hot and sour curry with coconut shoot fish), Stir-fried shrimp with Sator/bitter bean, Tom Som Phuket (Phuket sweet & sour soup) and Kaeng Subparod Kung (Coconut milk shrimp and pineapple curry)
If you ask me, which dish from 12 that I would like to recommend? I consider that as Tom Som Phuket, this dish is Tom Som Phuket, it is rarely seen in other restaurants in Phuket. It looks like a simple dish, with various vegetables such as tamarind leaves, banana tree trunk, cashew nuts, morning glory, pineapple with anchovies, and shrimp skewers. But its taste is great, sour and sweet, and makes you feel fresh.
Another dish that I would like to recommend is Boiled coconut milk with Miang leaves. It is a dish that looks like it is greasy, but actually not. You should eat when it is warm, the taste is sweet (from coconut milk and fresh shrimp), so delicious. But if you already order Tom Som Phuket, so no need for a more soup menu. I would like to suggest you order another simple dish, but so delicious, it is stir-fried Miang leaves with egg,
For other menus from the “Discover Phuketian Flavors” set menu, you can choose as you like, all delicious, I feel like eating at home, same as my grandma recipe, I am a real Phuketian. But please be warned, if you order stir-fried shrimp with Sator (bitter bean) be sure that you don’t have any meetings with anyone. Or be sure that you are preparing oral cleaning equipment, its smell is not ok.
We also had the seafood set “Andaman Platter”, a seafood basket. Contains seafood steamed, boiled, yum, and salad. A seafood basket contains shrimp, crab, clam, squid, seafood salad, and tuna spicy salad (Lab Tuna). It is a set for 2 persons, the price is 919 Baht, excluding beverages.
