Whether a competent cook or simply wanting a basic understanding of Thai ingredients and cooking methods, a hands-on At Panta Phuket cooking class is a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and have an enjoyable day.
Thai cuisine offers a delicious, flavourful and beautiful alternative for the family table. Thai cuisine blends five fundamental tastes: sweet, spicy, sour, bitter and salty. Some common ingredients used in Thai cuisine include garlic, chillies, lime juice, lemon grass, and fish sauce. The staple food in Thailand is rice, particularly jasmine variety rice (also known as Hom Mali rice) which is included in almost every meal.
The At Panta Phuket Thai Cooking Class will allow participants to learn about and experience the exotic herbs and spices that make Thai cuisine one of the world’s culinary delights, and will teach guests how to cook popular Thai dishes, through hands-on lessons with At Panta Phuket’s resident chef.
The class will start with a trip to the local market where chef will teach guests how to identify Thai ingredients. Guests will be introduced to a range of native vegetables and fruits, as well as oils and sauces important for Thai cooking. They will also get the chance to enjoy the genuine Thai market experience when purchasing the main ingredients required for their dishes.
After returning from the market guests will visit their herbs and spices garden for a selection of further ingredients required for the cooking experience.
At the preferred venue of either “The Restaurant” or “Sala Thai Thai” Chef will then present a cookery demonstration of the dishes guests are going to prepare and they will sample those dishes. Each one will receive a set of recipes of the course.
It’s then time for guests to put their hands-on the cooking utensils. Everyone will be provided a private bench and wok and taught under close guidance of chef.
Now everyone can taste and enjoy their cooking creations.
