Growing up in hospitality – orientated family
My grandmother owned a small hotel up in the north of Thailand when I was a little girl and my uncle and aunties own and run restaurants so you could say that I grew up in a hospitality-orientated family. As for myself, I graduated with a hotel management degree at Griffith University on Australia’s Gold Coast and have been working in the hotel industry for more than 10 years with various international five-star hotel chains.
In addition to the hotel and tourism experience I gained through working as a department head with award-winning hotels such as Conrad Australia, Accor (Novotel and Sofitel brands), Millennium Hotels and Resorts, Marriott, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Compass Hospitality, Virgin Active (part of Virgin Group own by Sir Richard Branson) and recently Dream Phuket Hotel & Spa and Dream Beach Club, my Thai-Australian background helps me to work well in Eastern and Western-style environments as well as those which blend both. I lived and worked in Australia for five years.
How come G Hospitality Consultants?
It’s always been my dream to have my own business in the hospitality industry or even to have my own hotel in the future when I retire, just like my grandmother did. That’s one of the reasons why I studied hotel management. I basically know what I want and have never wasted my time to get to know who I want to become.
After working with several international hotel chains for more than 10 years, involved in fi ve pre-opening projects, and rebranding projects for 10 hotels and working for two operational stage hotels, I’ve come to know and recognise every style of business; from city to urban, hotels, restaurants, beach clubs, night clubs, health clubs and real estate, from big to small or even family-sized businesses.
My best friend, Mr. Phuchayoung Kongcharoun, who is also my business partner, has been in the hospitality industry for over 10 years as well. We decided that it was time to make our own empire. Many of my friends and colleagues said: “Why don’t you start your own business as you have capability to do it?” so that’s why I decided it was time to start my own company; after all, I’d been planning it for a few years.
I’d like to say a big “Thank you” to all my bosses in the past who taught me so well. I have a lot of respect for them and I love them all. Without them, I wouldn’t have been able to do this today.

With all the background mentioned in my brief Bio it made me understand what clients really need to achieve for big, small, or even family-sized businesses. We act as consultants to professionals as well as people who don’t know where to start, for example, some people who have property that they’d like to convert into a hotel.
We can tailor made our advice individually for each business, depending on their budget. We will not push business owners into something they don’t want to do. Rather we listen to their goals and achieve their targets for them. It’s stressful for outsiders or business owners who want to do something but don’t know where to start and who they can really trust. You could say that I’ve been through it already.
Our company offers ‘one-stop service’. We have a team dedicated to our clients’ needs because we believe in quality not quantity. We do this out of passion, not for money and we’re looking for perfection, not just to finish the project and then move on to the next. We see each project as our own baby and we’re proud to help them grow.
We’ve got professional hospitality teams who have been working in the hotel and restaurant industry for decades and who can give advice, planning in all areas such as operations; food & beverage, sales & marketing, public relations, revenue management, design concept details, branding and more.
We have three offices in Bangkok, Phuket and Nong Khai in order to deal with clients in those particular regions.
What are the obstacles in your job and how have you over come them?
Each task has its own unique obstacles from delays in construction, suppliers not delivering on time, cash-flow problems, business owners who want to see their business grow faster but don’t know what to do, personality clashes between business owners and their management teams, etc.
Put yourself into their shoes. Explain the reasons why you should do it this way. Just imagine it’s your own money. It’s all about trust and at the end of the day each business owner needs to trust their own management team because basically they hire them to come in to run their business. Without trust it’s all over.

How about your life style?
I love to read about future trends and business news updates. I also love to travel and see diff erent places or hotels and how they do it at each destination. And of course I love to spend time with my Great Dane ‘Baby’ and take her out as much as I can.
